Nigeria
is the largest missionary sending country in Africa. Currently there
are more than 5,000 Nigerian missionaries and the missions community in
Nigeria has an aggressive vision of sending out 50,000 missionaries
over the next 15 years. Nigeria also has the largest number of
unreached people groups in any African country. Through the Nigeria
Evangelical Missions Association (NEMA), Mission: Moving Mountains
(M:MM) is equipping a cadre of whole-life disciplers in four NEMA
zones. Currently we are working with more than 15 teams at various
phases of the Discipling for Development process. We are expanding into
a fifth zone this year. It’s anticipated that the project will
continue another three to five years as the teams arising in this fifth
zone are trained and implement Discipling for Development in
communities in their region.
M:MM sends teams of International
Mentors approximately three times a year to work with these Nigerian
missionaries, helping them to think and work wholistically in rural
