The Navigators
To Know Christ and Make Him Known

Get Involved

Get Involved Locally
If there is a Navigator International Student staff in your city, you can contact the ISM office and offer to volunteer with their ministry.  If you're not sure if there is staff in your city, contact the ISM office, we'll be happy to find that out for you.

Minister to an International
Become personally involved in the life of an international student near you. Contact colleges or universities in your city and talk to the international office. Most know of a host-family program that you can volunteer with.

Pray
The simplest way to get involved is through prayer.
  • Pray for Navigator staff as they reach out to international students.

  • Pray for international students to be open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for internationals who believe in Jesus to grow in their relationship with Him and to develop the skills to reach out to those around them.
What You Can Add
As a layman you can have a unique contribution to an International Student Ministry. Our focus is to see students return to their country with a view to ministering as laymen there. The example of laypeople here who are modeling this provides an example of life that is unbeatable. The students can see not only how to minister as a layman but also the struggles and challenges of it and how God can use you in a great way.In a very real way your example as a laboring layman is more powerful and has a greater impact than that of a missionary or campus minister.

ISM Ministry Distinctives
Our desire is not only to reach the international students on our campus. We want to see the gospel move among the millions of people represented by the families and relational networks in the nations from which these students come.

We begin with the internationals' home cultures in mind. What will be reproducible in their country? What can they do given their resources?

We do this through building relationships with individuals and their family and friends.

Along the way, we enable internationals to minister and to lead, and we help them develop their God-given gifts.

We value internationals becoming laborers in the marketplace, building generations of ministries in their own sphere of family and friends.
