Breathe 2008 - Renewing the Worshipper's Soul
August 21-23, 2008 Download itinerary (PDF file)
Step out of the spotlight and BREATHE!
You’re involved in worship somehow—as a staff leader or as a volunteer—musically, artistically, or technically. You love it. You’re thankful for it. But maybe you need to come out of the “doing” of worship, and let your heart, soul, and mind be reminded why it’s such a great honor to worship, and WHO it is you are worshipping! This is the essence of BREATHE—to create an amazing environment for people in the worship trenches to experience deep soul refreshment. BREATHE offers worship teams many opportunities to grow in practical ways—through workshops, focused worship-related discussions over meals, and more, with worship arts leaders who are eager to get to know you and encourage you where you are. We want this retreat to help you grow in spirit and in skill! ITINERARY COMING SOON!

SPEAKERS (more to come)
Shane Barnard (R) and Shane Everett (L) Shane Everett and Shane Barnard formed the duo, Shane & Shane, after meeting at Central Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas in the late 90's. In December, 2001, Shane & Shane signed with Inpop Records, home to such notable acts as newsboys, Superchick, Paul Colman, Tree63 and others. Since then, the acoustic-guitar wielding pair has become a college-circuit favorite with five label releases to its credit and countless hours logged on the road. Their music has been nominated for Dove Awards in 2004 and 2006, and they have toured with many top Christian artists, including David Crowder, Bebo Norman, Mat Kearney, Ginny Owens, and Mac Powell. Hear their music and learn more at the Shane and Shane website. Jared Anderson is a worship leader and songwriter based at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As well as being apart of the Desperation Band, he is a recording artist with Integrity Music and has written worship songs such as “Rescue,”“Amazed,” and “Hear us from Heaven.” Jared and his wife Megan live in Colorado Springs with their 3 children, Everett, Beckett, and Francie.
Resident worship leader and program coordinator at Glen Eyrie since early 2007, Jeff Morrison has been in full time ministry since college. Worship pastor, youth director, missionary teacher in Guatemala, and recording artist out of Nashville, Jeff is passionate about living in and communicating the healing love and power of God. Jeff is a recent vocal and songwriting winner at GMA Music in the Rockies, and leads worship workshops all over the country. He has a great wife and three small kids and is thankful for this season of work at ministry at the beautiful Glen.
Cindy West recently celebrated her 10th anniversary at Woodmen Valley Chapel, where she currently serves as the director of Worship Arts. She is also the founder of imago Dei, (literally, "in the image of God"). Now comprised of more than 50 members, this Colorado Springs-based artist community continues to aid visual artists in their walk with God, encourage them in their artistic development and spiritual journey, and provide a safe and accepting environment where servanthood and hope are alive. Cindy received her degree in visual communications from the Ohio Institute of Photography in 1991. An artist who has created recognized art in photography, fiber arts, paint, and video, she is also a consultant to churches on how to release artists for the ministry to which God has called them. Today, she lives in the foothills of the Rockies with her Golden Retriever, Bo. Former Young Life director and Fuller Seminary student, Father Anthony is the Orthodox priest of Holy Theophany Church in Colorado Springs (known by many for its ownership of Agia Sophia Coffee Shop in Old Colorado City). He has a great appreciation for the Evangelical world out of which he came, but was drawn to Orthodoxy as he studied church history and read from the early church fathers, especially St. Maximos the Confessor. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have 5 children, and continue to thank God for His mercy-filled presence and consistent witness in our world.
