Tony & Maryann Pallatto- Parenting Out-of-Control Teens

March 8, 2008

“What do I do with my completely out of control child today?”

That is the number one question Tony and Maryann Pallatto receive...and they have worked with thousands of families. Good Christian homes today are suffering with completely out-of-control teens or even pre-teens and the parents are at a loss as what to do. Many wonder if God is even active in their lives.

Many of these kids are not responding to discipline at home and the parents are simply at a loss--they have no idea what to do next.  This conference will introduce a clear plan families will be able to implement.  This plan is so clear that each and every out-of-control child in any home will know without a doubt that if he or she pushes the boundaries, consequences will be swift and strong. No longer will they get away with unacceptable behavior.

Phone registration for this conference is currently available.

About the conference: In his own words

Glen Eyrie: Hi Tony! Thanks so much for taking time to share a little about your upcoming parenting conference. How would you describe to someone what this conference will focus on?

Tony Pallotto: This conference will cover:
  • Taking action steps in helping out-of-control teens
  • What you can do with an out-of-control teen
  • Developing home contracts with a teen
  • How to deal with troubled and out-of-control teens such as drug/alcohol abuse, truancy, violent behavior and legal problems
  • Holding on to your peace and joy in Christ in the midst of family turmoil
GE: Who do you consider your main audience for this conference?

TP: Parents, guardians and grandparents of out-of-control teens.

GE: It's clear from reading your joint biography below why are you and your wife are passionate about this subject--it really hits close to home. What kind of hope do you want this conference to offer people who are in similar situations?

TP: First, that the peace and joy we should hold onto in Christ in spite of specific circumstances that involve our out-of-control teen. Second, [we want to provide] an action plan for parents to deal with their troubled and out-of-control teen.

GE: One last question--a light-hearted one! What's one thing in your day-to-day life that is normal for you but is probably pretty unusual for most people?

TP: After my shower, I am compelled by forces unknown to me to make sure there are absolutely no streaks on the glass. (That unknown force may be my wife.)

GE: Thanks so much, Tony!

SPEAKERS

Tony and Maryann Pallotto have been married for 37 years and are parents of three sons, two of which were addicted to drugs and alcohol (one son fully recovered and one son who died from a heroin overdose).  Tony and Maryann both come from families of drug and alcohol abuse. Tony’s parents died early deaths due to complications related to alcoholism, a brother who died from heroin addiction, and another brother who is still in his addiction after 42 years.  Maryann has one brother who unsuccessfully attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head as a result of 42 years of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Tony and Maryann have clearly experienced the pain and difficulties that come from drug and alcohol abuse.

In light of these hardships, Tony and Maryann knew that they wanted to
offer a path of hope, healing, and direction to parents who were struggling with out-of-control teens.  Teen Adolescent Placement Services (TAPS) was established over 12 years ago to serve families of troubled teens.
