Lisa Rice - For Young Women Only

About the conference: In her own words
Glen Eyrie: Hi Lisa! We are delighted to have you at Glen Eyrie. How would you describe to someone what this special mother/daughter conference will focus on? Lisa Rice: This conference will focus on giving both girls and moms some surprising truths about how guys think and what that means for dating, dress, attitude, and the future. Girls will come away with a new understanding of a guy's tough and tender nature, his greatest need in life (even more than love!), his most secret vulnerability, and what he most wants the opposite sex to understand about him - and how he views them. We'll compare our national survey findings and "guy videos" with what the Bible has to say about the differing needs of guys and girls, and how it is possible to have God-honoring, no-regrets relationships with guys. Moms will also get to hear what teen girls most want them to know about parenting, and they'll get some keen insight into what makes their sons vs. daughters tick. Finally, moms will come away with new tools for creating lasting, fulfilling, understanding relationships with their daughters.
GE: Who do you consider your main audience for this conference? LR: The audience is daughters (middle school and high school) and their mothers. GE: You and Shaunti Feldhahn are the co-authors of the book, For Young Women Only. What makes you passionate about this subject?
LR: I'm passionate about this subject because I not only have four teenagers myself, but I've been researching the subject for three years and love sharing the surprising truths I've uncovered. GE: What are 2 things you want attendees to take away from your conferences? LR: Girls will take away a clear understanding of the opposite sex and how they're wired, as well as tools for best relating to the guys they care about. Moms will take away a clearer understanding of how their sons and daughters are wired, as well as a toolbox full of tips for improving all the relationships most important to them. GE: One last question. Besides being a woman who has the inside scoop on how teens boys think, what's one thing in your day-to-day life that is normal for you but is probably pretty unusual for most people? LR: I am not just a mom and author, but I do movie reviews each week for www.crosswalk.com, the world's largest Christian website. I believe that often movies can portray life's issues far better than any book or lecture can, so I often use movie clips in my talks. GE: Thanks so much, Lisa. We look forward to seeing moms and daughters grow closer together through your conference!
