"Those who mourn will be comforted."
When you lose a child, you also lose a piece of your heart that can
never be replaced and your life is forever changed. Although time
seems to heal many wounds, time by itself is unable to give relief from
the pain that is caused by the death of a child. Though difficult
to do, the processes of grieving will eventually give the most relief
after such a devastating loss. And, when you finally emerge from
the cocoon of your deep grief, life will begin to feel worth living,
once again.
When Mark and Sally Stockwell received a terminal diagnosis on their
two youngest children, their faith was shaken to its core. From
the initial onset of blindness to the end of their children's lives,
seventeen years passed. "As we watched the slow deterioration of our
children, we saw first hand, God's grace being sufficient in our lives,
and we experienced His comfort, fully, in our pain when their lives
ended. We were broken, but also stretched in ways that we had
never dreamed imaginable. It is with a combination of humor and hope,
that we share our journey through grief. We seek to fulfill the
Biblical admonition to "comfort others with the comfort which we,
ourselves have received of God."
