Asian American Ministries - Ohana Gathering 2011

Aloha friends,

The Holy Spirit continues to flow in and through the Asian American Ohana* Movement. At the heart of our prayers are our cries for a gospel movement to Asian Americans both in the United States and Asia. We are in awe of how He has answered our prayers this past year in the following ways…

Everyone can contribute - Our National Ohana Gathering in Seattle on the “Kingdom of God and our Work” was beyond imagination. To empower Kingdom laborers in the workplace is vital for the movement of the gospel from everywhere to everywhere. Because of this our plenary sessions featured speakers who are leading professionals in the marketplace. We are so grateful for the deep and provocative messages on work, calling and wealth.

Ohana Expansion - As we have focused on coaching and encouraging our natural networks, the expansion of our Ohana Movement happens organically. We are blessed to see new networks from both Davis California and Fayetteville Arkansas join in our Movement. What excites us the most about these two new networks is that they are entirely lay lead by groups of working men and women.

From the West to East: Asian American Mission to Asia - Nav Staff Ken Kong led another fantastic Summer Mission Team of mostly Cambodian Americans to Cambodia. Nav Staff Peter and Kristine Yim have relocated from Singapore to Thailand. Our teams in East Asia are seeing fruit of their labors in reaching into their natural family and friendship networks.

Mission to the Family - Praise God for the family members who have come to know Jesus including Rubee’s father, Susanna’s father, Irma’s parents, Harold and Au’s sister and bother-in-law and Catherine’s father.

From “Everywhere to Everywhere” - This is our vision of the movement of the gospel among Asian Americans. This vision is detailed in the featured article of the July 2011 One-to-One Navigator Publication. Mahalo! Thank you for your support and prayers!
