NavVida: Leading the Way to Reaching the 50 Million Hispanics in the USA

The Challenge:  How to identify fellow laborers who have a passion for reaching the 50 million Hispanics in the United States in the Hispanic Harvest? 

Spectrum’s NavVida Ministry is taking the initiative to recruit and empower future Navigator leaders and laborers who have  a passion for the Hispanic populations in the United States. A year ago planning began to bring together 20 to 40 Latinos for a weekend of fellowship, networking, and sharing creative ideas at the Glen Eyrie Conference Center,  The Navigators’ beautiful and inspirational retreat center.
 
While planning, Alex Mata, NavVida Director, sought God’s guidance regarding how to empower the next generation of leaders and laborers.  With the help of NavVida team members Rafael Serna, Armando Diaz, JJ & Jennifer Gonzales, Ismael Aguirre and Jorge Rodriguez, multiple small groups were formed to generate ideas regarding reaching the Hispanic communities.

The Results:   Thirty Hispanic laborers and leaders, representing 7 Latin ethnic groups, came ready to work at the NavVida Emerging Leaders Summit last November on how to reach the rapidly growing number of Hispanics and Latinos in our nation.  A Movement and a National Development Plan was established which identifies ways to introduce more Latinos to our most Awesome God and to the most beautiful way of living for eternity.
 
God’s hand was at work from the start as He led each emerging leader to attend the Summit. He gave each participant a real spirit of familia (family) and a strong sense of “being in this together”. The salsa music played during the breaks gave the meeting a special sabor (flavor).   The Spirit of God moved and ideas flowed at the Summit.  The group came up with a list of 12 great ideas that are now being developed into specific action plans. In addition, through this process we are able to more clearly see how God is working in our midst and to see what great people He is raising up for the Hispanic Harvest.
