Panta Ta Ethne: Making Disciples of All Nations Stories

SEALS 2010:  Focusing on the Southeast Asian Americans!
SEALS1
Due to the wars in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in the 70's many refugees resettled in the U.S.  The children of those refugees are now in their 20's and 30's and The Navigators are focusing on these Southeast Asian Americans.

Navstaff Ken Kong directed SEALS 2010, the Southeast Asian Leadership Summit, on March 11-13 in San Jose, CA.  210 gathered from over 35 U.S. cities, most of them the children of refugees to get encouragement and training to advance the Good News.  SEALS2

Most of the attendees committed themselves to advancing the gospel intentionally during one of the main sessions.  Out of the carnage and ashes of SE Asian wars and genocide, comes a special, anointed generation of Kingdom Laborers.  And they are 'hot!'

They are embracing The Lordship of Christ.  They are committed to practicing The Word.  They all stood up to advance the Good News.  They are embracing reconciliation with their heritage.  They are in reconciliation with their first generation churches.  They are extremely energetic and creative.  They have been refined by fire.  They are so gracious and relational.  They are destined to be used by GOD is HIS revolutionary 'mustard seed' ways.

These Americans of Cambodian, Laotian, Vietnamese, Hmong, Mien, Khmu, Karen, Tai-Dam, Mon, and Chin descent are a Spirit-anointed generation for God's Kingdom.

Eddie Broussard, Senior Vice President of Field Ministries, spoke about discipleship and recognized Cesar and Edda for all of their wonderful work with the Latino communities throughout the US.

The Vega’s 40 year commitment to laboring in the harvests and growing spiritual generations is a tremendous blessing to The Navigators and Spectrum Mission.  The loving example and sage wisdom they bring to our Mission is invaluable.  We are grateful for them.

Native American:  Building K'e in Chinle and Many Farms
NAAM1

What is K’e?  K'e is a Navajo word that encompasses the idea of extended families and clan relationships working toward a common goal.  There is a very similar Greek word in the New Testament that also describes the concept of extended family and relationships.NAAM2 In Scripture we see the gospel naturally and powerfully moving through “Oikos” or family households and networks.

Tom and Delphina Johnson have focused for years on serving and building the Navigator K’e on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona.  Every quarter the K’e gathers together in Chinle.  The K’e is not just a Navigator Staff gathering but very much a gathering inclusive of friends and family who have a heart and common vision to see the gospel move throughout the Reservation through their natural relationships.

This summer the Johnson’s will lead the K’e through a study on Oikos.  Let’s keep praying for the building of K’e and Kingdom in Chinle and Many Farms Arizona.

Spectrum Leader Gathering:  April 2010
SpecMtg1

In April we gathered as leaders at the US Headquarters in Colorado Springs.  International Vice-President Esther Waruiru led us through a series of talks and discussions on “Who is a Navigator?” and “What do Navigators do?”  The complexity of the diversely changing face of America necessitates that we take a fresh look at our core foundation.SpecMtg2

The Lord used US Navigator Director Doug Nuenke to remind us that we are living “between the now and not yet” and to keep going even when the road seems long.  John Ridgway, Veteran Navigator Missionary, spoke to us on the Keys to the Kingdom through our first birth as ethnic people providing the mobility of the gospel and our second birth producing a transformed life and purity of the gospel.

Our mornings were highlighted by presentations from each of the ethnic specific ministries.  It is encouraging to see the momentum developing across the nation to bring the gospel of His Kingdom into the nations.  Many of the field leaders and headquarter staff in Colorado Springs joined us to come and see what the Lord is doing in and through Spectrum Mission.
