Sharing Life with a Rapid Growing Hispanic Population

The Hispanic populations in the United States continue to increase at a rapid rate. Today half of all babies born are Hispanic. One out of four kindergarteners is Hispanic. By the year 2023, minority students will be the majority.

The burden to see a gospel movement birthed to all Hispanics and Latinos is at the heart and core of our Spectrum Ministry called NavVida. Vida is the Spanish word for life. Jesus came to bring abundant life to the growing and diverse Hispanic communities in our country.

We are dependent upon His Spirit to ignite this movement. His empowering of a new generation of leaders is absolutely critical. This coming fall, Alex Mata, the National Director of NavVida and the Co-Director of Spectrum Mission, will be hosting a strategic gathering of young leaders at the NavVida Emerging Leaders Conference from November 6-9th at Glen Eyrie. Reaching the Next Generation of Hispanic Men

The Midwest Men’s Fellowship meets once per month at Jose and Eva Lamberty’s home in San Antonio for the purpose of having fellowship, worship, Bible Study, prayer and accountability. This community has been forming for the past two years and our desire is to see men grow and mature in their walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. We currently have 15-20 men attend this meeting. In this picture we are praying over a young man who went into the military. We sent him away with God’s blessing and the blessings from our group of men. Since then, Chris has been back to share with us what Christ has been doing in his life and how having a group of men pray over him has impacted his life.

We recently established a leadership team for this Men’s Fellowship. The team is made up of Fernando Becerra, Fred Villasenor and Jose A. Lamberty. Our current objective is to reach out to young Hispanic males with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our plan is to rent a gym, probably on the south-side of San Antonio, and invite the young men for basketball, fellowship and a study. We will use Lessons on Assurance, which includes memorizing five verses associated with this study. We are extremely excited about this since we have young men in our fellowship. We will start this outreach in mid-April and we desire your prayers for the next generation of Hispanic men and for God to send laborers into this harvest.
