Panta Ta Ethne: Making Disciples of All Nations Stories
“Believe, Belong and Be Loved” was the theme for the annual Navigator American Indian Discipleship Ministry Women's Retreat in Chinle, Arizona from 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
Nearly 40 women gathered in the heart of the Navajo Indian Reservation in February. NavStaff Delphina Johnson spoke on the central truths of the Gospel highlighting God’s desire for relationship with Him from the story of the Samaritan woman.
As a result of the retreat 8 Navajo women have continued to meet for a weekly Bible study to follow up on what they learned at the women's retreat. Please pray that these women continue to believe in the gospel, know that they belong to God and abide in His love.
The Good News for Japanese
One hundred and sixty friends came to the outdoor Easter Outreach Event Yuji and Sumie Uno hosted this past April in California with 100 of these friends unconvinced about Jesus. The Good News was shared twice at this event. First, at the morning Church Service with about 60 friends, and second at the afternoon Easter Egg Hunt for children. Just before the Easter Egg Hunt, a Japanese lay woman who is very gifted in teaching children shared the Good News with both the children and their parents. As she taught they sat quietly and listened. What a surprise to observe how intently the parents were listening to the Good News. Sometimes parents do not listen for themselves, but they do listen for their children.
Praise God for His creative ways of sharing the Good News to Japanese in America.
Creating a Safe Place for Hispanics: Rio Hondo College Ministry Every Wednesday night, a group of Hispanic students at the Rio Hondo College in California participate in a Bible Study through the Book of John led by NavVida Staff Ismael Aguirre.
Through this group the Lord is revealing Himself to both believers who desire to help others and to students seeking Him for salvation.
Please pray that He would continue to make this a safe place and group for anyone to seek God.
African American Disciplemaking Leaders
The African American Network is focused on dramatically increasing both the number and the fruitfulness of African American Disciplemaking Leaders across the country. The vision is not simply gathering lots of people; but through the messages, testimonies and mentoring relationships, every effort is being made to build Disciplemaking Leaders…not just disciples but Disciplemakers, who have the skills and calling to lead groups of others.
The African American Network is a national team of workers, building leaders through teaching, coaching, and focus on life training. This kind of focused spiritual development among African Americans is a bold step. There is a need for urban African American Disciplemaking Leaders with character, competency and commitment. As God grows these leaders some will be full-time in ministry and others will be laypeople that will make disciples in the marketplace. God is at work but He is far from finished. Pray that God will provide all the resources necessary to see this vision realized.
