The Navigators American Indian Discipleship Ministry
There are 350 nations registered with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Native America. These nations encompass a wide variety of cultures; from the plains, to the mountains, to the coasts. In addition, each of these nations has a different language unique to their tribe.
Of the 2 million Native Americans, 60 percent live in U.S. cities rather than on reservations. These populations are largely invisible because of the physical similarities to the Hispanic peoples of the cities. The cultures, however, are worlds apart.
The vision of The Navigators’ North American Indian Discipleship Ministry (NAIDM) is “to encourage and stimulate deep one-to-one discipling relationships with Native America and its spiritual native leadership.”
Although Native Americans comprise only one percent of the total U.S. population, these original trustees of America occupy a special place in the heart of God. They comprise a significant part of America that should not be overlooked or forgotten as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission and obey the great commandments.
NAIDM envisions multitudes in every North America First Nations reservation and community, with a passionate love for Christ, living a lifestyle of sharing Christ’s love, and ministering with a spirit of biblical reconciliation.
