Ethnic Ministry Fund
I. The Ethnic Ministry Fund
The Ethnic Ministry fund is a fund that was launched by The Navigators to provide foundational money to seed and sustain strategic ministry growth among ethnic minority peoples in the US according to our vision and calling. The Ethnic Ministry Fund is a significant effort on the part of the US Navigators to give our ethnic-focused ministries the financial foundation they need to develop sustainable momentum and growth. A portion of this fund may be used to promote ethnic ministry in the other entities. Ethnic minority men and women face tremendous challenges not only in raising their salary support, but also in supplying the kind of resources it takes to sustain momentum in ministry on a national level. This fund will be a long-term effort of at least ten-year's duration.
II. Purpose of the Ethnic Ministry Fund
The Ethnic Ministry Fund is being used to help finance the following categories of needs that currently have no dependable or consistent income:
- New Ethnic Staff Recruiting and Settlement (increase the recruitment and retention of ethnic minority staff)
- Ethnic Entity InitiativesEthnic Entity Administrative Systems
- Intercultural Training and Development (This item includes the costs of getting quality intercultural training to Navigator staff in all of the US entities.)
- Benevolent Care of the Staff (This will help handle some of the significant one-time financial needs that arise with ethnic minority staff.)
III. Sources of Funding for the Ethnic Ministry Fund
The Ethnic Ministry Fund is supported by regular gifts from Navigator staff, NSM, NavPress, and the Glen Eyrie Group.
This is a dollar for dollar matching initiative fund which is being supported by an anonymous donor.
We want to provide what is needed to see the gospel advancing among the ethnically diverse people of our country. In Acts 1:8 we see that the gospel is to go to Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the world. Now is the time for us to reach into parts of our own "Judea" we haven't yet touched, and even to go into the "Samarias" of our own country with the gospel of the kingdom.
