Our Full Time Staff

With over 60 years of combined Christian camping experience, the Eagle Lake full-time staff work hard year-round to set the pace for the summer. Ministering to staff and campers, our full-time staff are actively involved in the lives of young people - college-age, high school, junior high, and elementary. On staff with The Navigators and headquartered in Colorado Springs, the full-time staff are committed to excellence, wholeheartedness, and faithfulness in carrying out the mission of Eagle Lake Camp in a fun and creative way.

Jack McQueeny
Director of the
Glen Eyrie Group

Jack and Shaunda came to camp in 1989 and Eagle Lake hasn't been the same since. Jack brought a new energy and yearly themes to Eagle Lake. In 2001, Jack was asked to take on Glen Eyrie Conference Center. He now serves as the Executive Director of the Glen Eyrie Group, which includes Eagle Lake and Glen Eyrie.

Mark Heffentrager
Director of Camping Ministries

Don't let Mark kid you: his dream job is to be a college basketball coach, but until then, Mark oversees all programs and operations at Eagle Lake. Going into his 10th summer here at Eagle Lake, Mark has worked himself into every camper's favorite Emcee and will continue to do so until all his dance moves have left him.

Jenny Dordal
Office Manager

Jenny is the voice you all hear when you call the office. A former multi-year camper and a Minnesota native, Jenny moved to Colorado Springs four years ago as our full time Office Manager. She may sound nice on the phone but watch out - she has a black belt in Taekwondo!

Eric Mergens
Resident Camp Director

Bringing with him a new sense of excitement and fun, Eric jumped on the Eagle Lake bandwagon as our Resident Camp Director. Eric, working with our programming team, leads our yearly themes and ensures the program runs smoothly. Having been a camper, counselor, program coach, and Assistant Rez Director, Eric brings a unique insight and knowledge to the Eagle Lake team. Look for him this summer wearing one of his snazzy suits!

Sean McKelvey
Crew Director

Joining the Eagle Lake full time staff in 2005 as our Crew Director, Sean brought his two years of past counseling wisdom and an exciting new design to the Crew program. Sean grew up in Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Long Beach State. Sean has since moved and now lives in Colorado Springs.

Tyler Good
Excursions Director

Tyler, a former EL Excursions counselor, joined Eagle Lake's full-time staff in March (2006) as our new Excursions Director. Tyler was born and raised in Montrose, Colorado and graduated in May, 2005 from Calvary Chapel Bible College South Maui with a degree in Counseling and Childrens Ministries.

Susan Vukovich
Community Relations Director

Susan assumed the role of our Public Relations Director in August of 2006. Having been a camper, a Resident counselor, a Program Coach, and now a full-time staff member, Susan will be going into her tenth summer with Eagle Lake. Susan is in charge of fundraising for Eagle Lake and for recruiting counselors to join our summer staff.

Jonathan Sahhar
Webmaster

Jonathan joined our staff late 2006 and has been put in charge of Eagle Lake’s internet ministry. Having served as a Resident and Crew counselor over the past two summers, Jonathan brings a valuable view of Eagle Lake as a whole. Jonathan has lived in Colorado Springs for the last 11 years.

Lynn Engle
Operations Director

Lynn has invested 30 years working and living at Eagle Lake. As well as being the world's craziest mountain man, he takes care of our property all through the year (even the snowy months). Make sure you let him know this summer that he does a great job keeping camp looking so fine.

Paige Jones
Eagle Lake Staff

Paige, a former Resident Camp counselor, joined our full time staff in January 2008. Not only does she hail from the great southern city of Atlanta but comes with business and marketing experience to add to Eagle Lake's office. In addition to her full-time duties, she will work on the programming team during the next two summers. A Florida State University grad, Paige will always challenge you to a duel in any sport, and usually win.
