Our Leadership

With over 60 years of combined Christian camping experience, the Eagle Lake full-time staff work hard year-round to set the pace for the summer. Ministering to staff and campers, our full-time staff are actively involved in the lives of young people - college-age, high school, junior high, and elementary. On staff with The Navigators and headquartered in Colorado Springs. The full-time staff are committed to excellence, wholeheartedness, and faithfulness in carrying out the mission of Eagle Lake Camp in a fun and creative way.

Jack McQueeney

Executive Director

Jack and Shaunda came to camp in 1989 and Eagle Lake hasn't been the same since. Jack brought a new energy and introduced yearly themes to Eagle Lake. In 2001, Jack was asked to take on the Glen Eyrie Conference Center. He now serves as the Executive Director of the Glen Eyrie Group, which includes Eagle Lake and Glen Eyrie.

Mark Heffentrager

Director of Camping Ministries

Don't let Mark kid you: his dream job is to be a college basketball coach, but until then, Mark oversees all programs and operations at Eagle Lake. Since joining the Eagle Lake staff in 1998, Mark has worked himself into every camper's favorite Emcee and will continue to do so until all his dance moves have left him.

Jenny Dordal

Administrative Director/Asst. to the Director

A Minnesota native and a former, multi-year camper, Jenny joined Eagle Lake's full time staff in January of 2002. She graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2009 with a degree in Organizational Management and Human Resources. Jenny oversees all of Eagle Lake's administrative functions and also serves as Assistant to the Director. She is affectionately known around camp as "Pepper Potts." She may sound nice on the phone but watch out - she has a black belt in Taekwondo!

Sean McKelvey

Operations Manager

Joining the Eagle Lake full time staff in 2006 as our Crew Director, Sean brought his two years of past counseling experience and an exciting new design to the Crew program. In 2009 Sean switched roles and now serves Eagle Lake as the Operations Manager. He is a family man who enjoys spending his free time with his wife Andrea and two children, Nayelli and Caelan.

Ben Notheis

Resident Camp Director

Ben is a former engineer who followed God’s call to become the new Rez Camp Director here at Eagle Lake! He and his wife Rosa are fun-loving people who are excited to serve in a variety of capacities within the Rez program. Having been a counselor in 2003, Ben brings a unique insight and knowledge to the Eagle Lake team. Outside of his Eagle Lake role, you can find him admiring F-22 fighter jets and dismantling random objects to see how they work!

Shaun Gutierrez

Excursions Director

Shaun and his wife Larae were Excursions counselors together in 2008 and then the Lord opened the door for him to step into the role of Excursions Director in August 2008. Serving as a director for an outdoor adventure program is a dream come true for Shaun because he has a passion for using God’s creation to minister to youth. On his days off during the summer Shaun loves to take on the rest of the staff in some intense beach volleyball!

David Rau

Assistant Excursions Director

David came to Eagle Lake as an excursions counselor in 2007 and 2008.  He then joined the full-time staff and is now serving as the Assistant Excursions Director. He helps in planning of the Excursions programs, detailing of out-of-state activities, and helping the summer run smoothly. David enjoys everything outdoors, and has a huge heart for discipleship. He may look like a big, burly, mountain man but he’s really a softy at heart!

Hanley Kincaid

Crew Director

When asked why he enjoys his position as Crew Director, Hanley always has the same reply, “I have a heart for seeing high school kids grow deeper in their relationships with Jesus.” This response is what makes Hanley the perfect fit to direct our Crew program. He served as a Crew counselor in 2008 and then joined our full time staff in May 2009. He is able to serve the Crew counselors as well as minister to the Crew campers each summer.

Lynn Engle

Facilities Manager

Lynn has invested 30 years working and living at Eagle Lake. As well as being the world's craziest mountain man, he takes care of our property all through the year (even the snowy months). Make sure you let him know this summer that he does a great job keeping camp looking so fine.

Dan Johnson

Assistant Facilities Manager

Handy-man Dan knows how to fix just about anything. That’s why he is such a great part of the team who takes care of Eagle Lake year round. From broken toilets to chainsaws, Dan spends his days at Eagle Lake making sure everything is in working order and the grounds are cared for. You might see him zooming around camp in his white pick-up since there is always something to do.

Andrew Brown

Intern Staff

Since stepping on to the property for the first time in 1998 as a Rez camper, Andrew acquired a passion for the programs and spiritual growth that happens at Eagle Lake. Andrew brings a different perspective to the team having been a Rez camper for 6 years and a Rez counselor in 2009. He’s now pioneering an Edge Corps experience for Eagle Lake that we hope to see develop more in the future. He lives for the summers at Eagle Lake and has a passion for developing meaningful relationships with the counselors and campers that attend Eagle Lake. Just be careful that you don’t challenge him to a duel in Rock Band. You’ll lose. Every time.
