The single-most important factor in a camper's experience is the counselors - those hand-picked men and women who will be a camper's biggest fan, friend, and spiritual coach. Our staff are trained to meet campers wherever they may be spiritually, and then to engage them in relevant and relational conversation concerning the Jesus of the Bible.

Recruited primarily from The Navigators collegiate ministries (over 90 campuses across the country), young men and women (many former campers themselves) will invest their lives in our Eagle Lake campers as part of our summer staff. Our staff is exposed to a philosophy of a hands-on ministry approach that emphasizes excellence, wholeheartedness, and faithfulness in all areas, with plenty of feedback, evaluated experience, and personal care from our full-time staff...

Each of our staff members is carefully screened with three character references, criminal background checks, past-employer references, an in-depth application, and a personal interview. Once accepted, they each take part in a customized 10-day orientation (3 weeks for Excursion staff), during which they are trained and prepared for the upcoming summer of ministry.

Staff development continues throughout the summer in the form of weekly inductive Bible studies, Nav speakers, one-on-one mentoring and accountability from experienced leadership and deep relationships with 80 other like-hearted college-aged students.
