Our Commitment to Safety

With more than 60 years of combined Christian camping experience, our full-time staff works hard year-round to ensure every camp maintains the highest standard of excellence.
Our On-Site camps staff a full-time registered nurse along with student nurses and a registered EMT with medical supplies on-call at all times. If needed, a hospital can be accessed at a nearby mountian community. Nothing is more important to us that your camper’s safety.

All Excursion camp staff are experienced in outdoor pursuits. Each member is required to make a two-summer commitment, and the entire team undergoes 21 days of rigorous training. Excursion counselors are Wilderness First-Aid and CPR-certified. First-Aid kits are carried at all times, along with two-way radios and/or cell phones for emergencies. While inherent risks exist in any adventure activity, risks are minimized dramatically by implementing the highest safety standards in the industry.

Eagle Lake campers are accepted without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, or handicap (though campers with physical challenges should contact Eagle Lake before registering to discuss the respective program and help our staff understand his or her special needs due to the steep inclines and rough terrain of the Colorado Rockies).

Eagle Lake is licensed by the State of Colorado, accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA), certified by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), and an appraised member of Christian Camping International (CCI) and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Eagle Lake Excursion Camps are operated on the Pike, San Isabel, and Gunnison National Forests under special-use permit from the United States Forest Service (USFS).
