Maine 2008
...built on a rock

Imagine growth in Christ, in-depth Bible study, ministry training, leadership experience and worship of God in one of the most beautiful places He created...the rocky Maine coast!  We need to refresh our enjoyment of God and re-invigorate our calling to advance the “good news of great joy” into our world!  Join us as we get away together and come back refocused and re-energized.
The Navigators are offering a 2-week program for college students, student leaders, volunteer campus leaders, Nav alumni and other Nav ministry and NavFusion associates.

Enjoy times alone with God on the rocky seacoast
Experience the sharpening fellowship of a ministry team
Tour Acadia National Park by biking the carriage trails
Study the bible and strengthen bible study skills
Worship God at a sunset service atop Cadillac Mountain
Taste the goodness of God during a Maine lobster bake
     Acquire relational ministry leadership training
Feel the ocean-spray of the Maine maritime experience

What can I expect?

Everyone will have ample opportunity to experience God, strengthen their spiritual disciplines, grow in Christ-like character, and receive ministry and leadership training. Every college student will be a part of a team, growing in Christ and working together. Team leaders will learn bible study leadership skills and ministry team leadership skills. Campus ministry leaders will meet together to study the bible, sharpen leadership skills, share ministry ideas, and have the opportunity to provide training and input to the teams.

Who should apply?

Maine '08 participants will include college students, student leaders, volunteer campus leaders, Nav alumni and other Nav ministry and NavFusion associates.  Although it is not necessary to be involved with a Navigators campus ministry, it is assumed that most participants will have some ministry involvement, either with the Navigators or a similar organization.

Inside Washington

Work as an intern for a Senator or Congressman on Capitol Hill. Deepen your understanding of what it means to be in Christ. Learn what it means to live out your faith in the marketplace. Live on the campus of George Washington University, and explore all the exciting things D.C. has to offer. Be sharpened by your peers as you live life together in teams of interns.

You must be a highly qualified student to be a part of this program: be an initiator, good communicator, have a high capacity, deal well with stress, and have a solid walk with God.  Temptations will be great in this atmosphere so keep this in mind as you think of investing your summer in D.C. Political interest is not a requirement but could be helpful.

This is a once in a lifetime special opportunity.  Through the government program, over 40,000 students apply for these internship positions and only 12-15% are accepted.
