Doug Nuenke U.S. President
Dr. Doug Nuenke was selected as The Navigators U.S. President in 2008. He leads with the fervor that comes from a continually growing and passionate relationship with God.
Doug came to faith at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, through the influence of a group of friends. There he met his future wife, Pam. Doug and Pam spent their early-married years in Denver where Doug attended seminary and served as director of student ministries at Cherry Hills Community Church. He later became director of Doulos Ministries in Lawrence, Kansas, before coming on staff with The Navigators in 1992.
Doug and Pam’s first assignment with The Navigators was at the University of Kansas. Doug helped create and direct EDGE Corps®, a ministry internship with The Navigators for recent college graduates. It was during this time they moved to Colorado Springs. Doug served as associate director and western division leader for The Navigators Collegiate Ministry and was eventually selected as the Metro Mission director in 2005. Doug finished a doctorate in Executive Leadership, and wrote his thesis on the impact of missional living on communities of men and women in their twenties. Doug and Pam have a high value for partnering together in ministry and helping individuals who can in turn help others (see 2 Timothy 2:2).
Doug and Pam have three adult children and two grandchildren. Doug and Pam attend church at New Life Downtown in Colorado Springs. They have spent hours at their local coffee shop and favorite restaurant, building relationships and seeing God transform lives. Doug loves to fly fish and they both enjoy Starbucks, reading, the outdoors, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and meeting new friends in their community.
